I'm such a dork!

I am such a dork. It is my grandpa's birthday so I was rushing to the post office after work to get his present shipped. Of course, being the post office, they don't have hours that acutally work for people who work.

I got there moments before they were getting ready to close. This wonderful man was so helpful. He had me hand him everything so he could weigh it and I could pay. Then he closed out his drawer while I got everything into the packing box and addressed.

Then I suddenly realized I was missing one of the bits of the gift so I ran to my car and found it.  Ran back in and put it in the box.  Now mind you, the sweet helpful man had already weighed the dang box.  I don't know what the heck I was thinking. Hopefully it didn't change the weight enough that they won't deliver my package.

Then I went to get my address book I couldn't find it.  Luckily I had just received a Valentine from my sweet Auntie so I shipped the package to her instead of my mom.  Isn't it lucky they are neighbors!!!!

I finally got the box on its way and took a big sigh of relief, climbed back in the car and their sitting on my dash board..... the birthday card.

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm such a dork.  It's a good thing my grandpa knows how much I love him!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!  I miss you and I love you!

I'm an Adult - or something like that

We had a family day today.  We went bowling for CJ's birthday.  What a riot!  The kids had so much fun.  Isabel and CJ were cheering for us all and really having a good time.

Then we went into the city to buy fabric for my grandpa's birthday gift.  I told the kids we needed tractor fabric so they needed to look for tractors.  What I didn't know at the time was how much tractro stuff we would find.  There were kits for blankets, kits for approns, pillows, toys, etc.  I'm telling you there were tractors everywhere I turned.  CJ and Isabel just started putting it all in my cart.  Everytime I turned my back more stuff would end up in the cart.  Oh, they were so helpful.  Then while we were looking at buttons I handed a pack to Isabel to hold.  When I paid for it we both forgot she was holding the pack of buttons, and left without paying for them.  So we had to go back in the store to pay for them.  CJ freaked out!  He just knew Isabel had stolen them and we were going to be in a lot of trouble.  I had to calm him down and explain that mistakes happen and that we were going back in to fix a mistake.

Then we went to a Mexican restraunt for diner.  We love Mexican food at our house.  Isabel and CJ informed me that they spoke Spanish.  Then CJ said, "well its not real Spanish it our own language we made up."  Isabel said, "Yeah, its callen Anguish."

During dinner, Isabel got in trouble.  I told here if she didn't stop messing around the next time we go out to dinner I would get a baby sitter and she would stay home.  She looked at me with complete annoyance and said, in her very dramatic tone and gesturing wildly with her hands, "I do NOT need a baby sitter.  I am NOT a baby.  I am five years old, so I'm a 'dult'."

I'm so greatful for all my blessing and a great day with my family.  They make me laugh, keep me on my toes, and bring me great joy.

Isabel's explaination of how she joined our family

We decided to spend our New Year's Day seeing "The Princess and the Frog."  We all jumped into the car and headed to town.  CJ asked me how old Isabel was when he started Kindergarten.  Before I could even answer, Isabel answered.  This is the following conversation Isabel and CJ had...

Isabel: "I was still with Jesus."

CJ: "No, I think you were two."

Isabel: "No, I was still with Jesus.  Then Jesus told me I could come and live with you.  So I packed my suitcase, and Jesus dropped me off on the porch."

I nearly wrecked my car.  She wasn't at all entertained by my laughter, but how could I help it.  It was so darn cute.
